Biography imageMichael Aubrey has been a barrister, university teacher, journalist and schoolmaster, and, for the past twenty years, a professional artist. He studied in Cambridge and has painted since his childhood, mostly as a watercolourist. He is a Fellow of the British Watercolour Society and exhibits internationally. He is a keen musician, playing in chamber music ensembles and he has designed many theatrical productions. Recently he has been commissioned to paint a number of major schools, colleges and other historic buildings. His work is widely collected and is to be found in numerous public and private collections round the world, including those of the Royal Family. Over thirty solo exhibitions of his work have been held in London, Paris, Sydney and several other capital cities, including individual presentations by The British Council. He lives in a 16th century drovers' inn in Oundle, Northamptonshire, attached to which are his studio and gallery where his work may be viewed by appointment.
