Michael Aubrey has been a barrister, university teacher, journalist and schoolmaster, and, for the past thirty years, a professional artist. He studied in Cambridge and has painted since his childhood, mostly as a watercolourist. He is a Fellow of the British Watercolour Society and exhibits internationally. He is a keen musician, playing in chamber music ensembles and he has designed many theatrical productions.
His work is widely collected and can be found in numerous public and private collections. Over thirty solo exhibitions of his work have been held in London, Paris, Sydney and other capital cities, some presented by The British Council. He lives in a 16th century drovers' inn in Oundle, Northamptonshire, attached to which are his studio and gallery where his work may be viewed by appointment.
